Inequality is one of the major root causes of modern slavery. Traffickers thrive when women’s rights aren’t respected, when gender-based violence is ignored, when girls are denied education, and when people of different races, tribes, nationalities or social status face systemic discrimination.

Your support of Free the Slaves changes these dynamics in two critical ways:

  • First, the enslaved cannot exercise their rights. By liberating people from slavery, you pave a pathway: equality starts with freedom.
  • Second, the Free the Slaves community-focused approach fosters a climate of respect and acceptance. Educating villagers about human rights, labor rights, women’s rights and children’s rights strengthens their bonds to each other. Working together, the entire community becomes slavery resistant.

When people are treated as equal, social progress becomes possible. Tolerance and acceptance take root. But slavery is a barrier that targets the disadvantaged and excludes them.

That’s why your support is so important. Advance the cause of equality by spreading freedom.

Can you help end the conditions that cause modern slavery?
